I have owned the xla500, xls1000, xls500, and M-1000. I still own the M-1000 and the xls500 along with a Lee Jackson V-30 cab. The xla series was supposed to be direct copies of Lee's modded Marshalls. I did not like the distortion sound they had.

Looks to me like an almost exact Marshall circuit with all the 80s mods. From what I can see, this circuit would be a direct drop-in replacement for a stock preamp as far as the power supply connections go.
