Chinese automatic stuck in 1st
WebJul 4, 2012 · I have a 2006 Coachman Cross Country with a 300hp Cummings with a Allison transmission. Yesterday while pulling out of the campground my coach will not shift out of 1st gear. I'm also unable to change modes and shift manually. After hitting about 2500rpm my check engine and check transmission lights come on. WebNov 1, 2008 · The first time this issue happened (at 60k miles) I paid a transmission shop $600 to fix it. It just happened again (at 100k miles) and I fixed it myself for about $50. WebJan 11, 2024 · If this is the case, my understanding is that the gears are not lined up for a 4-6 to 1st gear change. but like you said, sticking it 3rd and then 1st fixes the issue. Which would again line up with the idea that going from 6th to 1st (at a stop) is causing the gearbox to not be lined up and ready for that shift.
